Amparo Susana Mogollón, a lecturer at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Universidad del Rosario and principal investigator of the EquityCancer -LA project in Colombia, took part in the “International Seminar on Evidence for Strategic Primary Health Care Management”, organised by the Sergio Arouca National School of Public Health (ENSP/Fiocruz) on 8 and 9 June 2026. The seminar was organised by the Strategic Studies in Primary Health Care Project (EEAPS/ENSP/Fiocruz), in partnership with the PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centre for Training and Strategic Development for Health Systems with an emphasis on PHC (BRA-97, ENSP/Fiocruz), the SUS Observatory (ENSP/Fiocruz) and The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean (TGHN LAC). Professor Mogollón participated in the panel “Integration and coordination of care: the strategic role of PHC in health care networks”, presenting a paper entitled “Improving access to cancer diagnosis in public health service networks: a participatory intervention aimed at strengthening the role of primary health care in Colombia”. This presentation highlighted the experience of the EquityCancer-LA Project in Colombia, and in particular the process of designing, adapting and implementing an integrated, multi-component strategy developed within public health service networks in the department of Cundinamarca, based on a professional capacity-building strategy and a user-friendly pathway aimed at overcoming barriers to access to health services. The seminar, designed in a hybrid format, was attended by healthcare professionals and managers from integrated health service networks, representatives from municipal and state health departments, and researchers from various Latin American countries.
